Rare gems on show at Christie's Shanghai Art Space

A preview of Christie's Hong Kong's "Magnificent Jewels" auction, plus a number of luxury watches, will be on display at Christie's Shanghai Art Space on May 10 and 11.

The live auction will be held on May 27 at The Henderson in Hong Kong.

The sale features over 100 rare jewelry items, including the prestigious "The Regent Kashmir," a 35.09-carat royal blue sapphire ring from Kashmir from a private collection, and "The Regal Ruby," a 13.22-carat unheated Burmese ruby, which is expected to become the highest-priced and largest Burmese ruby sold at Christie's Hong Kong in nearly a decade.

"The Regent Kashmir" has profound historical significance and stands as the highest-valued Kashmir sapphire jewel ever offered by Christie's in global auctions over the past five years. The gemstone mesmerizes with its velvety cornflower blue hue with exceptional clarity and rare origin.

"The Regal Ruby" ring astounds with its vivid, deeply saturated color and transparency.

Other highlights include a 10.35-carat oil-free Colombian emerald and diamond ring and a pair of dazzling emerald and diamond earrings, each set with a 7.03-carat and 6.92-carat oil-free Colombian emerald.

The auction will also showcase collections from the world's most renowned jewelry houses, including Bulgari, Cartier, Harry Winston and Van Cleef & Arpels.

On the afternoon of May 9, experts from Christie's watch department will host an appreciation salon at Shanghai WooHoo Time Studio, showcasing highlighted lots from the upcoming Hong Kong spring auctions.
